Rearing Chickens at Springfield Organics

Q: What is the difference between Organic and Free Range?
A: The only difference is the feed. Organic chickens are fed certified organic feed, while all free-range and organic birds are reared to Organic Farmers and Growers Standards.

Q: How do you distinguish Organic from Free Range birds?
A: Birds are grown in separate fields to ensure no mix-up occurs.

Q: Is the grass and pastures organic and pesticide-free?
A: Yes. All pastures are organic and pesticide-free, promoting chicken welfare and environmental sustainability.

Q: How do you ensure chickens are happy?
A: While chickens don’t communicate emotions like humans, we monitor for signs of stress and take measures at every stage to ensure their well-being.

Q: Do you rear turkeys all year round?
A: No, turkeys are only reared for the Christmas period, due to seasonal demand.


Our Products

Q: Are all products from the UK?
A: Yes. All poultry and meat are 100% British, reared on organic and free-range farms.

Q: What are giblets?
A: Giblets include the heart, neck, and liver. These are included with ducks, chickens and turkeys 

Q: What makes white meat white?
A: Muscle color depends on activity. Chicken breast remains white because flightless birds’ breast muscles are lightly exercised.

Q: How does poultry compare to beef nutritionally?
A: Skinless chicken has 3x less fat than lean beef and is high in protein and niacin. Turkey is the leanest, with less than 1g of fat per 3.5 oz serving.


Ordering from Springfield Organics

Q: Why are secure passwords required?
A: Online security is vital. Passwords should be 8–10 characters with a mix of upper/lowercase letters, symbols, and non-dictionary words.

Q: I haven’t received my 10% discount code.
A: First-time purchasers receive a 10% code upon newsletter sign-up. Check your spam/junk folder if you haven’t received it.


Packaging

Q: How is the product packaged?
A: Products are vacuum-packed where possible. Whole birds and bone-in cuts use secure packaging. 

Q: How will my order arrive?
A: Orders arrive in insulated cardboard boxes with ice packs to keep products chilled for 48 hours.

 


Delivery

Q: Which courier do you use?
A: We use DPD/APC overnight courier services to ensure next-day delivery. For issues, contact info@springfieldorganics.co.uk.

Q: How do I get free delivery?
A: UK mainland delivery is free for orders over £100. 

Q: Do you deliver outside mainland UK?
A: Unfortunately, we do not deliver offshore due to high perishable shipping costs.

Q: Can I leave delivery instructions if I’m out?
A: Yes, use the delivery notes box at checkout and provide details such as safe places, flat codes, or trusted neighbors. DPD also allows updates via tracking links.
